Core Banking Solution for Co-operative Banks – Application for the post of Chief Operating Officer

NABARD invites applications from eligible candidates having necessary experience and qualifications for the post of Chief Operating Officer to implement and monitor core banking solution across:

Job Position: Chief Operating Officer (Core Banking Solution) – 1 post

Qualification & Experience: Graduates from any recognised university. Preference will be given to candidates who have done post graduation in Commerce, MBA (Finance), Economics and having computer knowledge. Any specialized training or qualification relating to development finance, rural banking and IT etc. shall be of added advantage. Candidate should have banking background, with experience in implementing Core Banking Solution at senior management level.

Desired Profile:

The candidate should have:

• Minimum 3 years in Core Banking Solution implementation at any commercial bank / RRB / Co-operative Bank. Experience in managing Data Centre will be added advantage.

• 20 years minimum experience at any commercial bank / RRB / co-operative bank or other financial institutions.

• Working knowledge of operations in co-operative banks or RRBs will be added advantage.

• IT / Project Management certification will be added advantage

• Strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to manage teams and conduct change

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent problem solving skills

• Strong negotiation skills

(Engagement will be on contract basis, initially for two years, extendable further on the basis of performance evaluation)

Location: Posting shall be at HO, Mumbai. However, Bank reserves the right for placement at any of its Administrative units in India.

Preferred Age Group (Yrs) : 50 to 62 years as on 31 December 2010.

Compensation:

Compensation will not be a constraint for deserving candidates. Applicants serving in Government / Quasi Government offices, Public Sector Undertakings, Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions or other organisations will be required to apply through proper channel.

The application must be submitted in the Proforma given on the website in the same order preferably typewritten on A4 size paper. All items of the applications must be filled in according to instructions given for filling up the application form.

Applications may be submitted in a cover superscribed “Application for the post of Chief Operating Officer (Core Banking Solution) on contract basis” to reach “The Chief General Manager, HRMD, NABARD, Head Office, C-24, ‘G’ Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (E), Mumbai 400 051″ not later than 21 January 2011. Applications received after due date shall not be entertained. The final appointment will be based on the decision of a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose subject to medical fitness. Bank reserves the right not to fill up the post.

Terms and conditions of appointment of Chief Operating Officer (Core Banking Solution) on contract basis -

1. Period

The engagement will be strictly on contract basis for an initial period of two years from the date of reporting for duty. The contract shall come to an end on the expiry of a period of two years from the date of joining the Bank and is extendable for one more year, on the basis of performance evaluation. The contract shall be terminable by one month’s notice on either side.

The Core Banking Solution – Chief Operating Officer (Co-operative Banks) will be responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, supervision and control of all steps of the project to implement Core Banking Solution across co-operative banks that have signed up for the platform.
